future design.jpg

In this course, which focuses on speculative design, we'll explore the imaginary futures of various objects. Speculative design encourages us to imagine possibilities that seem unusual, but are potentially plausible. Students will first be introduced to this approach and taught how to conceptualise the future. The course will then cover topics related to post-humanism, which is necessary for speculative thinking. Based on this knowledge, students will research the origins of their chosen objects and produce a poster presentation in English proposing alternative possibilities for these objects. This process will introduce students to truly innovative design studies. Teaching will be face-to-face, encouraging an active exchange of ideas between students. >>> schedule >>> overview

02 Speculative Design

First of all, we would like to know about speculative design. This design is an attempt to make visible possibilities that no one has considered, that may or may not be realised, that may or may not be good.
